I've been fighting this stupid Bacterial Vaginosis for like six months. Everything I have read says I need to make ACIDOPHILUS a part of my daily intake...which I have. Does anyone have ANY idea as to how much??!! Right now I am eating one yogurt a day and taking 2-34mg pills a day.

I am doing Weight Watchers, so I really hate to waste my points on eating more yogurt, but don't get me wrong, I will if that is what it takes to kick this crap to the curb!!

Also, has anyone tried the PILL medication for this? She keeps giving me that Clindomyiacin (I think that is the name), and the last doc gave me Metro Gel which didn't remotely help...so what about this pill? Should I ask for that instead?

Thanks!!!

    • I have been taking Extra Strength Acidophilus every night. I take two before bedtime. I eat yogurt everyday as well. I also use vinegar and water to rinse off with often. I still have the same recurring problems. I haven't found anything to cure it. I am married so I'm with the same man and have been for 10 years. I was seeing a doctor that gave me flagyl to take and that worked. Didn't cure it but it did keep it somewhat under control. Well, I changed doctors for other reasons and haven't found another to write that for me. They say it isn't safe to take daily. So, I am still fighting a no winning battle. This is so aggravating.

    • I take acidophilus for recurring BV and I read that it's recommended that you take the capsules with at least 1 billion live cells in them to be effective. I take them morning and night. I've used Metro Gel, which helps...until I have intercourse again. And then 5 days of using the stuff seems like a waste of time. I've also tried one dose Clindesse. Again, it clears it up until I have intercourse again. I think how often you have unprotected sex has a lot to do with it, because I find that the more my fiance and I have sex, the faster it comes back, and the worse it is.
